But his kookiness didn't charm one Brooklyn dad: blogger Brooklyn Spoke, a self-described "Park Slope liberal breeder nutjob," thought it was a bit questionable that Markowitz brought a pole dancing exercise instructor on stage during a State of the Borough speech he made at Sunset Park High School recently. [ MORE ] |  | Triple murder suspect Maksim Gelman's 28-hour rampage, during which he is accused of stabbing seven people as well as fatally striking a pedestrian with a car, ended Saturday morning after he attacked Joseph Lozito on the uptown 3 train. It seems that Gelman messed with the wrong guy: "You better hope I f---ing die, because I’m going to kill you if I don’t," Lozito shouted at Gelman after he had been apprehended by police.... [ MORE ] |  | Lady Gaga has released her new single, Born This Way—which she performed at the Grammys last night after emerging from her egg—and it's being criticized as a rip-off of Madonna's Express Yourself. The Fame Monster hasn't commented on the similarities, but did recently mention she wrote the song "in 10 fucking minutes," and even called it "an immaculate conception." Indeed! The NYPD arrested 50,383 people for low-level marijuana offenses last year, making low-level pot possession the number one cause of arrest in NYC. But it's important to note who was getting arrested: according to the Drug Policy Alliance’s report, "86 percent of those arrested are Black or Latino, even though research consistently shows that young whites use marijuana at higher rates."...
